Hello folks,

In January we thought we would change thing up a little with the introduction of the long term Phantom GB that runs until the end of the year.

Historically LSP has had two 6 month group builds running at any given time. The long term Phantom GB is considered to be in addition to the typical 6 month group builds. The Multi Wing GB started today and will run until October 1st . We are still in need of another 6 month GB theme to replace the now closed BoB group build.

So here is the poll to choose that GB, lets see your votes! :speak_cool:

The poll will close April 15th with the chosen GB starting shortly after.

Cheers

Going by experience I think the vac GB would more than likely run longer than 6mths or is that just me :innocent:

On the subject of a Vac/Resin GB............

Would having a major part of the buid being resin or Vac? (IE - my example would be a Tamiya A6M2-N with a large part of it being the MDC resin conversion.)

Cheers,

I'm prepared to play this one fast and loose, and say yes. Especially since I have a Doyusha A6M2 kit that I plan on using the Horizon vac Rufe conversion with someday! Would make for a good pairing in the GB, eh?

However, I think the proportion of vac/resin to the overall build would have to be at least this significant, otherwise we're stretching the definition just that bit too much.

Hi Ron,

Wow, thre are some really good themes there - I wish I could vote for more than one! I vote for the resin/vac GB, but 6 months may or may not be long enough (for resin, probably yes, for a basic large vacform, maybe not?). I would, however, suggest that (major) conversions are added to this group, as this would open out the category for plastic, vac, scratch build and resin conversions and mods, producing new and interesting aircraft variants that are rarely seen (The currenet P-40F resin nose is notable one, but it could also equally encompass the old ID Models Revell Harrier T.2 conversion as well). To me, a kit conversion wouls/should encompass at least a minimum 25% alteration to a base model which would constitute an aircraft mark or variant/role change (for example, a change of engine type would just fit in here)...Just my thoughts on the subject.

Cheers

Well, I think this is a good idea, as I alluded to in my previous post. If none of the other staff are against it, I say we broaden the scope of that particular theme to include major resin or vac conversions. I don't have a clear definition of "major" in this context, but I'll know it when I see it.
