Hi ! :)

Thank you Mark !

...

'managed again some progress. She's almost there !

But first, the time consuming usual little things

After it was painted aluminium, some salt was thrown over the belly tank 110425050934933508052804.jpg

Then the basic paint, with some shadows, was applied

Salt wiped off

Details painted, dry transfers on, wash an coated. I've a lot of pics showing this thing very dirty, so... :innocent:

Some artistic licence on the wheel covers as the original photo shows the AC laying on the belly

the wheel parts finished

Nothing special to show with the wheels, but I thought I would may be a small hint for those like me who are lazy for masking, unable to cut a decent round mask and think it is usless to spend money for wheel masks.

I use the same stuff as "BlueTac" (here it's called "Patafix" - UHU brand)

the small peice can be very easily extended to the rim limit with your fingers or any other tool

110425051017933508052817.jpg

then just paint

110425051022933508052818.jpg

when it's OK, remove it and the wheels are ready for the next weathering steps

Weathering on the AC is 99% done too (addition of some pastels effects and exhaust stains). I took again some outdoor pics, the sun is much better than I for the colour rendition. :deadhorse:

Underside is done too. ETC rack this time painted and completed 110425051103933508052825.jpg

She's now standing on her own legs. :frantic:

LG covers and flaps attached (those have not yet recieved the pastel treatement).

The red patches on the underside are supposed to cover the now open ejection chute - it may also be some artistic licence... maybe not  )

... finish line is close !!! :party0023:

Hi ! :)

Thanks VERY much for your comments!!!

I finally managed to go through the last things

One was the spiral on the prop hub... Man ! That is a weird thing!!!

After hours of trying to find out the right shape, I finally cut a 2 parts mask out of Frisket and it worked (I'm still wondering why or how... )

110501033538933508086921.jpg

110501033600933508086923.jpg

Repaired the usual mishaps (applying dry transfers when paint is not dry doesn't pay!)

110501033620933508086925.jpg

Improved/replaced a few original parts with micro tubes

110501033641933508086926.jpg

and finished with the canopy. I forgott it in some mysterious place while working on the paint...

And ..... What now ?

Post some photos in the RFI section ??

Guest Peterpools

Awesome build and the various techniques used can fill a book. When you first said an OOB, I thought, straight out of the box with some small details being added but nothing as elaborate and wonderfully done.

:clap2:  :clap2:

Hi there,

I quickly wanted to point out that the decal sheet (1x Bf 109 G-10, 2x Fw 190 A-8 with RVB, 1x He 162) - together with the book that contains photos of the originals birds A-8 and many other planes - will be ready for shipping at the end of this month and preorders can already be placed now (at www.vintageeagle.com/store). Finally

The book is a limited edition and each copy is numbered by hand. It comprises 72 pages in large DIN A4 format (210 x 297mm; 8.27 x 11.69 inches) and contains more than 90 photos (incl. several color photos), 8 color profiles created by the renown aviation artist Simon Schatz and 3 color emblems. As far as I am aware, all but three photos have never been published before and show such rare birds like the Fw 190 D-13, Fw 190 A-8 with a Reichsverteidigungsband, Me 262s, He 162s, erla-produced Bf 109 G-10, a high-speed reconnaissance Me 410 A-3, a Bf 109 K-4 in US markings and many more. A highlight are certainly the first known photos of a Ju 88 G-7.

I hope you will enjoy it and I would be very glad to hear your feedback, opinions and suggestions :-)

Cheers,

Roger
