Is it me or is there is something really goofy about the prop and spinner? There is a large gap between the spinner and cowl. The prop and spinner appear to have an odd shape to them?

If you look at that last (3rd) pic, it looks like whoever built it, painted the spinner back-plate black instead of the same color as the spinner.

Spinner does look a bit overly pointy to my eye and it looks like the prop might just be a tad to fat in the middle and pointy on the ends (NOT unlike myself during winter BUH DUM BUM) , but no expert here, so might leave that up to Edgar.........

Cheers,

Brian

Right, I see that now that you pointed it out

I'd like to wait, until I can look at the contents, first, but the windshield has the curvature of the Mk.I, so really needs the external armoured glass (which would be fine for an early Vb.) I want to know who nicked the aerial mast, and also fitted the Aboukir desert filter to a U.K.-based aircraft. As I said, though, the items might be available, and perhaps mistakes were made in the rush to get it on display.

My thoughts as well Edgar - it looks like it was rushed in order to finish it for display (notice the unpainted tail wheel). I am not certain what is going on with the main wheels either...It looks like one of them has been assembled the wrong way around? (unless there is some new and wonderful wheel hub cover that I am not aware of?). From a (selfishly) personal point of view, I am glad to see that it is fitted with a centre line bomb, I just wish that I could see what their bomb carrier looks like?

way i see it is wheels, spinners and props are EASY aftermarket items for the modeller to add (even if props are difficult to actually make...)

canopy is a bugger because if it is off in its point of contact with airframe, it requires a LOT of surgery to fix

let's hope that if is is off, it is an Eduard style goof, and easily fixable with a replacement

Removable plain covers were available (initially as a counter to snow, then, later, against mud or sand) from early 1941, so I'd suspect (knowing Hobbyboss's penchant for filling a box) that you'll have a plain, or spoked, option, and two windshields aren't beyond the realms of possibility, either; other companies have done it. Note, too, with regard to a possible rushed job, the lack of guns, only partial codes on the port side, and there appear to be holes, in the cowling side panels, for the gun heating augmenter tubes, but the tubes are missing. I'll reiterate, I'd like to see what's inside the box, proper, before rushing to praise, or condemn.
