eoyguy
If anyone is interested, there are 1/32 scale Bofors, singles, twin and quads, on Shapeways. Oerlikons also. They aren't cheap, especially if you choose fine detail plastic... https://www.shapeways.com/product/W3H9SD5B2/1-32-40mm-bofors-quad-mount?optionId=61405147&li=marketplace Edited January 23, 2019 by eoyguy LSP_K2

LSP_K2
Now this is just too neat. While surfing the web, looking for information on the Iowa class, I stumbled upon this, a US Navy department bureau of ordnance drawing, dated 1937, of the 16" Mark VI gun. The original file was quite large, so this is reduced in size considerably. Model_Monkey, NukerDan, Rick Griewski and 1 other
Wegener
Back in 1997 I spent several days on the USS Kidd and the USS Alabama measuring and photographing 40mm quad mounts. I got the drawing of the base and some other components started and figured that the Ordnance drawings of a twin mount would help with the upper parts but the project is alas unfinished. Invariably I miss some vital dim which blocks progress. I’d probably need to put in a month of living on site and drawing up every evening to get a full set of drawings and I don’t have the time for that, particularly as I don’t think there are any quad mounts in Europe. LSP_K2
Yea, for something like you were attempting, lots of very accurate drawings/data would probably come in very handy. The beauty of my project is that I'm basically just concerned with overall proportions, as the details will sort of take care of themselves. LSP_Ray
Kev, I heard back from my club member. He did do an Iowa class turret. He used drawings from Floating Drydock, 1/96 scale, plans # PBBB61-1 if he remembers right. That's the Iowa (BB-61). LSP_K2

I'll have to look into that, as well as ordering the ships plans for the turret from the national archives, which I'd just love to see.
