Wolf Buddee Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Bryan, Thanks so much for your help. It's greatly appreciated. It answered a few questions and created a few more LOL, but it's a good step forward! Cheers, Wolf Wolf, I sent you a PM. Edited February 3, 2011 by LSP_Kevin Fixed quoting issues
Wolf Buddee Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Thank-you Kevin, kind words indeed! As far as tips are concerned, none of my techniques are secrets but your request is rather broad in spectrum, LOL! What would you like to know? Cheers, Wolf That's some of the nicest and most expertly-done detail painting I've ever seen. Tips please Wolf! Kev
Bryan Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Bryan, Thanks so much for your help. It's greatly appreciated. It answered a few questions and created a few more LOL, but it's a good step forward! Cheers, Wolf You're very welcome... The photos left me a little confused also. One tip: The plumbing you add in that area cannot protrude out very far from the firewall, or it will be in the way when you try to install the engine. The simple fact is, I doubt the pipes/tubes were routed exactly the same way on any two aircraft, so you might have to exercise a bit of artistic license. I took solace in the fact that the firewall area is not very visible at all once the engine is installed. That is the sort of canned excuse that gets me through my models.....lol.
Wolf Buddee Posted February 4, 2011 Author Posted February 4, 2011 Thanks Bill, much appreciated! As it turns out you are correct and I've gotten quite a bit of help already. Now I have to decide where to begin and more importantly, where to stop. I think I'm already startin' to go nuts! Cheers, Wolf MAN OH MAN!! That's some painting Wolf...neat,tidy,crisp..dont get better.WOW! and the photos..super! Wish I could help with the plumbing, but there are lots of Spit aficionados here that should be able to.
JRutman Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 As I commented over on that"other" website. excellent work here buddy! Super nice detailing and painting work.I don't know how you guys don't make any mistakes on your painting. I can't get anywhere near as neat. I didn't color in the lines when I was a kid maybe? J
SeanH Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Wolf This is really awsome. What an excellent job you are doing.
Wolf Buddee Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) You know, I never thought of it that way but I always tried to colour within the lines as a kid. Maybe that's it, LOL! I have a hard time thinking outside the box too but that's a whole different issue. For me, well thinned paints, good brushes, and a steady hand is what works. Thanks again for the kind words Jerry! LSP_Kevin Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Hey Wolf, just a quick note about quoting other posts: you MUST leave the first 'quote' tag in place, or it breaks the quote. So far you've managed to leave the closing 'quote' tag (looks like this: ), but removed the opening tag each time. I've been fixing them for you, but I figured it was time for a lesson! Kev

Wolf Buddee Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) Ok, I must be a little slower than everyone else. Exactly how do I reply to other people's post? I keep doin' something wrong! Edited February 5, 2011 by Wolf Buddee
LSP_Kevin Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Ok, I must be a little slower than everyone else. Exactly how do I reply to other people's post? I keep doin' something wrong! You're nearly there mate. Just click on the 'reply' button at bottom right of the post you want to reply to, and that post will appear on an edit page, surrounded by quote tags. For example, yours looked like the following (without the colour-coding) when I clicked on 'reply': [quote name='Wolf Buddee' timestamp='1296894751' post='305572'] Ok, I must be a little slower than everyone else. Exactly how do I reply to other people's post? I keep doin' something wrong![img=http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/public/style_emoticons/default/BANGHEAD2.jpg] [/quote] You just need to place the cursor at a point either before or after the quoted section and press the 'Enter' or 'Return' key a couple of times. If you're below the quote, you can then just start typing! If you're above the post, use the 'Up' arrow key to move back to the top of the edit window (just so you leave a gap between what you write and the quote), and then start typing. Let me know if you're still not clear on it, and we'll try again. Kev
dodgem37 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 You are one Master Jedi! Love that pin wash. It's just so high and tight. Sincerely, Mark

LSP_Kevin Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I'm hoping this works, if not it's back to electro shock therapy. It's kinda fun but not for long! Getting closer Wolf! This time you put your new comment inside the the quote. Just make sure you start your new comment after the closing 'quote' tag, which looks like so: [/quote] Don't pull that electro-shock switch yet! Kev
