The 4-8-8-4 Big Boy, No. 4006 (the same one depicted on the Revell box), is located at the St Louis Transportation Museum, a few miles south of here. ringleheim
This project is coming along nicely. I have always wondered why static locomotive model kits weren't a huge genre of model building. There are a few out there, but they are on the fringe of the mainstream. Trumpeter among others has some interesting 1/35 locomotives and there are some 1/72 kits out there too, in terms of rail guns and what not. I will probably take a stab at one of Trumpeters' 1/35 Dampflokomotiven one day. Keep up the good work Typhoonattack! LSP_K2

The only time I was jealous of a classmate was when he told me he was working his way through school as a fireman on a Pacific type steam locomotive on the Chicago NorthWestern railroad. I used to hear those trains at night from my bedroom window. I was green with envy.
