23rd FG P51B

Hi All,

 

I am currently building Jerry Rutmans P51B and am considering doing Tex Hill`s `Bullfrog`.

Now there are some things I need to know. Are there any more pictures of this subject other than in Carl Molesworth`s Osprey pub. on the 23rd FG ? The picture in question on page 85 shows a crewman standing on the wing. In the the colour profile it shows

a red sharkmouth with black outline but from what I can ascertain the black and white photo shows, from my `interpretation`

that the interior of the mouth is darker ie black and the outline which is a lighter shade red ? The sharkmouth in the photo ends at

roughly the wing leading edge and in the profile it is considerably shorter.

Also it has been noted that the Name above the exhaust stacks reads as Bullfrog I (one?) and in some

circles is Bullfrog ! (exclamation) which is correct ?

I have seen the 21st Century P51B which has these markings but does anyone know if this subject is available on any other

decal sheet ?

 

Oh and by the way if you havn`t got at least a couple of Jerry`s P51B`s then shame on you.

Given the choice to use a photgraph, another person's model or a profile for reference, ALWAYS go with the photograph(s).
