Shawn M
Mark, you dont work on clouds? lol Thanks for the looking, I will still need to add wiring, paint, weathering, blah blah blah. I should have some good bench time tonight as I got a lot done on my RC glider last night.

Shawn M
Yesterday I got some bench time prior to playing music with a friend. Started weathering the main gear (wash, high lite, shadow, grease, pastel dusting, pencil chipping/scratches) Matte coated the fuse in anticipation of the next paint/salt application (will be the white undersides) base coated the prop in a nice steely/alloy'ish metallic color (need to clear, salt and paint in dark grey next) got the main tires flattened a touch and painted black (need to paint wheels aluminum and weather them)
Shawn M
shot the bottom in white, not really happy with my salt chipping but I will make do. Im gonna start weathering it/dirtying it up tonight after a matte coat
Shawn M
much happier with the white and chipping after some washing with black tempra (thinned out heavily). Masked and painted the intermediate blue on the top/sides. Now to do the sea blue. Also painted and weathered prop, love the way it turned out! Detailed main gear doors and started working on tail wheel doors. Pics soon I swear!
PhilB
Lovely paintwork there Shawn! Your intermediate blue is spot on and that weathering looks really great. Must be tricky working on one of those early prototype "stealth" Corsairs. Looking forward to seeing more! Out2gtcha
Dont know if these would fit the Revell offering, but if they would work, no doubt they look pretty sweet and G-Factor is unbeatable quality wise G-Factor F4U Landing Gear Brian

If I do another (where I allow myself kit specific AM goodies) I will get them for sure.
big matt
I like the approach you are using for the primer. I was trying to decide how to get that effect and this is a great help.
Shawn M
the only other way I could think to do it would be to apply "chips" of primer, then "chip" the centers with aluminum afterwords...too much work! The salt does it for you.
