Monty Python
Have the chance of a cheapish Academy F/A-18C. Been looking at some RAAF decals for the 20th anniversary scheme and want to check up on a couple of things. 1) Are the Australian built Hornets the same as the 'C' model? 2) Would the bang seat be a SJU 9/10 version? TIA Chris
Monty Python
Just found a site that states the bang seat would be a SJU 9/10. Chris
Scat
I have built the decal scheme you are referring to. I believe Hornet A21-26 was a HUG upgrade aircraft at the time of the special scheme so it had the 'C' model antennas but retained the early avionics cooling vents at the nose. Grills not mesh. These are the LEM decals. Jason

nzgunnie
What about the various antenna and fairings on the tails? In the HUG aircraft do they retain their A model format, or have they been updated to C model configuration? I've got the Academy hornet and the Black Box A model set that I was going to make a pre HUG Hornet in the earlier hi viz scheme. However I've found some RAAF OIF Decals and I'm thinking about doing a HUG aircraft and was wondering what mix of A and C parts would be correct. Any RAAF Hornet experts around?
