themongoose
Just stellar! I like the idea of using that JB Weld for the butt joint will have to try that to get something that actually ends up hidden as opposed to showing up even under primer. Oldbaldguy
Hey, Pete! Just got back from my kid’s change of command at Langley and while leaving base, was treated to a pair of F-22s at the hammerhead accompanied by a pair of T-38s. I was trying to drive, look at the airplanes and negotiate the gate all at the same time so I easily could be wrong, but it sure as heck looked like the T-38s were painted flat black. Is that possible, do you think? Never before seen one painted flat anything, much less flat black. GreyGhost

Pete Fleischmann
…still painting the inside of the tailpipes, but I thought I’d also start working out the exterior skin- master pattern with tape. Sharpie pen to locate the weld beads.. glued to .005 sheet weld beads impressed with ball head tool and French curve score and cut Still need to attach them-will weather these up a bit Cheers P Cheetah11, Azgaron, Renegade and 19 others

The first detail I needed to sort out we’re the wingtip position lights- here’s the real thing: and the solution that Timmy! And I came up with. He turned a master pattern for the lights out of aluminum and I used it to cast the lens in clear resin- more to follow- P Greg W, Starfighter, A-10LOADER and 8 others
