ju 88 cockpit floor

hello i have just started the revell 1/32 ju88 i have noticed from various photos that the cockpit floor is light wood could somebody tell me what the best colour paint to use to get the colour

I build a lot of WWI aircraft, so wood gets featured often.

For a light coloured wood, such as ash or beech i usually start with a base of Gunze Desert Yellow, and once properly dry I paint on a thin coat of Yellow Ochre oil paint, and after about 12 hours mix a lighter version of the same colour, and very lightly drag it across the drying coat, with an old knackered brush. this gives an apperance of grain, and although i think my efforts are usually no0t bad, i have to admit i've seen much better.

Once totally dry i use a thinned down mix of Tamiya Satin Clear, and Tamya Clear Yellow to seal it all. I find adding the Satin helps, as it avoids the high gloss sheen you'd get if you used the Tamiya Clear alone - I tend to use that on propellors rather than flooring / panelling.
