blackbetty
first the kit walleye is too short about 3mm, so since there are two i the kit i cut off the nose of the second one and lengthened the other one, while getting rid of the far too pronounced ring around the seeker head. fins have been cut off because the ER (extended range) walleye has larger fins
blackbetty
using the plan as a template i made fins from scratch and scribed the lines on them more to come, thanx for looking
ruzlkampf
Whew! I was sweating you thru all those fit anomalies buddy! I think it's cool how you have to call in the heavy artillery (those clamps) on every one of your builds. I was wondering when they were going to show up! Bwhahaha! Just funning with ya dude! Awesome job on the re-contouring/re-aligning/ re-defining of the fuse and flaps. Nice. This is a hoot to follow along with, keep it going Karl! Can't wait to see the next updates. blackbetty
hey russ, you are gonna love this one: fit of the fuselage called for some "creative holding devices"
blackbetty
the bottom of it will need some adressing too, the gaps are just awful
blackbetty
here too i glued some sheet to the bottom of the lower assembly. i will contour the protruding sheet and then sand-to-fit against the main assembly talk about unnecessary work

blackbetty
we will see if i manage to get rid of the gaps, buddy some more work on the lower fuse, the pice is now glued on. i spent 15 minutes trying to position it correctly to have no gaps, but to no avail
blackbetty
the rear from the bottom its really good that teh A-7 sits so low to the ground with the fuselage, so most of this cant easyly be seen when it stands on its legs
blackbetty
started the nose assembly by protecting the intake inside with some 3M tape to not ruin the nice white surface. i wanted to put the nose on at this step, but decided to first adress the fit between the upper part of the intake and the kit sideparts to, again, not damage the nose detail of the zacto part comments welcome
DaveJ
Wow... Â Remember what I said at the start of this about your build inspiring me to drag mine back off of the stalled pile? Well, seeing how much this is fighting you is making me re-think that a little!
blackbetty
dave, i still think this kit is worth building, its not as bad as it looks next i cut a pice of foam for the intake to mask it while painting
blackbetty
since the aires wheelwell set has its own geardoors i glued the kit doors together with some plastic strips to be used as paint and primer masks for the gearwells
