Barry
I have not been happy with any after market Phantom Cockpit.I am not saying anyone's is bad just all have the same problem aft cockpit is too short. The main differences you will see are in the shelves on either side of the aft cockpit. All the current after market kits chop them off thus causing or allowing the rear bulkhead to be slanted to match the seat angle. For the most part the rear bulkhead is actually nearly vertical.I have been kit bashing/scratch building one on and off for "years".I am attempting to make it adaptive to both Tamiya and Revell kits. What you see here is fitted to the latest Revell F-4E kit.I have considered working with Harold to see how it would cast up.I would like your thoughts. Barry
Here is what I see as the most glaring error in Tamiya's cockpit. The Fwd Instrument Panel; it's too small causing the main instruments in the center of the panel to be too small. Revell's panel is much more accurate in size. blackbetty
an accurate cockpit would be very cool, moreso if it would include options for the different versions

Barry
Hi Barry,Do any of the AM resin have the IPs correct? The real answer is no. The Legend kit for the Revell F-4E comes closest but it's not. It has several other oddites that I am not sure where they got their references. Looks like a mis-mash of different details. The Revell kit panel scales out closest to the actual panel. I feel certain I can get the different USAF versions but the USNs were very different from the AFs. The USAF RFs will also have to be unique. Barry
Hi Barry Anybody who is doing anything good for 32nd scale Phantom is my friend. Jozef Now that I have nearly finished (ready for paint) my 1/48 F-4B masquerading as an F-110A I will be able “I hope” to devote more time to the 1/32 cockpit. I will be concentrating on the late war E model first. I have received many very helpful photos of the cockpit area without the seat installed. These were provided by Jake Melampy at Reid Air Publications. With these I will be able to get the area behind the seats as accurate as possible. This will include many details that will not be seen but help establish the fit of many of the details that will be seen. Barry I hope I do not anger the Web Master but here is a photo of the F-110A less paint.
phantom
Do the pit for the Revell kit. I would have to buy 3 of them. Outstanding work. Thanks Mike
