Genaro,

I truely love seeing these old Revell kits build. They're old sure, but they certainly can be built up to impressive levels with alittle work. When I built mt last Corsair (1999) I rescribed the entire kit and added additional details that were lacking in the basic kit. As memory serves the cockpit and gear bays needed the most help.I used LoneStars detail set for my build to cover needed details on the cockpit and bays as well as PE for the engine.

Regards,

Gregory Jouette

Hi Genaro,

this can be built up into a nice kit out of the box but if you are a rivet counter after accuracy, it will need some heavy work.... just as it come to my mind:

- cockpit is all wrong

- engine lacks details and the gear box is unaccurate

- landing gear need detailling

- wheel weel and wheels need detailling and rework

- surface details: need rescribbing

- cowling needs detailling

Plus it does not have any movable controle surface (the Corsair looks damn cool with flap down!) and the gun/ammo bays can not be openned.

This said, the general shape and dimensions are rather good, and with a neat assembly and paint job, it looks really nice OOB. It is all up to what you want to put in it.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Loic

I rebuilt this kit from the wheels up about 6 years ago. I think I only used about a dozen pieces out of the kit and scratchbuilt the rest with the exception of the Meteor resin PW R2800 (which still had a good bit of work done to it) and resin tires/wheels

Hi You can build the Revell anyway you want (Out of the box or super detailed) and it makes a great model. The main thing is to have fun with it and enjoy your model build.

Texas
