It's the Academy F/A-18D backdated to the F/A-18B with the Black Box verticals and 2nd cockpit coming over the instrument panel. The Academy kit actually has most of the cockpit parts to build the B version, it's just a matter of picking them out on the sprues. I had to paint the top stripe as there was no way the CAM decals would work. I ended up using the top stripe decal to make the stripes under the canopy and for the front landing gear doors. The decal set was original made for the Hasegawa F/A-18. The kit is now on it's way to the Nats. Kyle Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Kyle Posted August 22, 2007 Author Share Posted August 22, 2007 Jack, I will have to find out on the Blue. A guy in our club mixed a batch for us and I do not know what he used. I used Future floor wax for the gloss. This was the first time I ever used it and I really like this stuff now. Airbrushed it straight out of the bottle, no dilution.
