Saso Knez Posted February 6, 2004 Author Posted February 6, 2004 When you are rotating the file a small li is forming on the opposite side of the hole, and this is the lip. It only needs a bit sanding. The big limitation for this trick is that it can be used only for lips on circular holes. As you might have noticed, I the oval hole doesn't have one. Have fun Saso
Mark P Posted February 7, 2004 Posted February 7, 2004 Saso: Its been a long time! Send me an e-mail someday and let me know what you have been up to! Proulxm@shaw.ca BTW, your work looks very good as usual! Mark Proulx
Rato Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 Saso, I don´t recall exactly what you´re talking about, but I guess it is the Future + Tamiya flat base recipe. The more flat finish you want, the more flat base must be added. Never mix more than 30% flat base or your finish will "frost". I achieve a very good flat finish with the recipe. A couple of weeks ago I tested the Windsor & Newton flat acrylic varnish. Man, if you want the most super-dead-flat out-of-the-bottle finish you have ever seen, that´s it. It will make AFV modelers to pray for a bottle of the stuff. Gunze acrylic flat clear is also a good product. Hope this is what you wanted. Keep us posted.
LSP_Ray Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 I have found Humbrol Matte to be a great flat coat myself, if you like oil-based stuff.
ChrisS Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 Great tip Saso! Thanks. On flat coat...I've used Polyscale flat with great success.
Saso Knez Posted March 21, 2004 Author Posted March 21, 2004 Hiya some new shots of the Hunter: Here is a good shot of the cockpit:
Saso Knez Posted March 21, 2004 Author Posted March 21, 2004 And here is the primed wheelbay. Also note that the undercarriage strut is here.
ChrisS Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 Sheesh! That's looking really nice. The wheelwell and strut are stunning. Cheers~
LSP_Ray Posted March 21, 2004 Posted March 21, 2004 No joke, stunning is the word! Can't wait to see this baby finished!

Saso Knez Posted March 27, 2004 Author Posted March 27, 2004 More work done: This is the primed main gear strut:
Saso Knez Posted March 27, 2004 Author Posted March 27, 2004 Now, usually you don't see this stage; remember the seat from the previous page? Here is how awful it looked just after first painting:
Saso Knez Posted March 27, 2004 Author Posted March 27, 2004 But, you know what? It is getting better with each wash! Do you notice anything Ray?
Saso Knez Posted March 27, 2004 Author Posted March 27, 2004 Hope to finish the seat sometimes this weekend, then onto (or back to) the wheelbay.ð Ray; I will send you the images when everything is completed OK? Thanks for the positive comments from all of you. Is Polyscale an acrylic varnish? I yet have to find a good varnish system. Hey Jack, do I remember correcty that you have some surplus Revell Mirages V? If so I'd be interested. Have fun Saso
LSP_Ray Posted March 27, 2004 Posted March 27, 2004 Ooohhh!!! Looks nice, Saso! I am glad the stencils worked out, it gives it just the right touch. Yes, that would be great to send the finished pics. It is really looking like a winner!
