New "Winging It" Group Build is GO!

A few days late and an agonising 57 cents over budget, but our latest Group Build, "Winging It", is now GO!

OK, truly, truly I am really trying to keep up. What is “winging it”?   All my models have wings so what is the deal?

From the Rules of the Road thread:

 

"The theme is anything but a single straight low- or mid-winged conventional aircraft. So this includes bent wings, swept wings, delta wings and high wings."

No idea, as this was Brad's concept, so I don't know if they were included in his thinking. I would guess not, or he would have been explicit about it.

A F6 Hellcat has a bend/kink in the wing, even more so if they’re folded, so I guess I’d be good to go …. 🤔

Brad agreed to the F4U Corsair and Ju 87 STUKA when I asked him.

Those have big kinks.

The Hellcat,and maybe others, with a small kink are debatable as they are not fully straight.

Brad's indisposed for a while, so it'll have to be me who rules. I think the Hellcat's small kink is not significant enough to qualify - unless you fold them! So I'll amend the them now to include aircraft built with their wings folded (and not just the tips).

That would give me the possibility to build the Arado 196.

But I shall wait and see which themes there will be in 2027.
