JMann Posted Monday at 03:55 AM Posted Monday at 03:55 AM Some on this forum have used magnets to allow ordinance to be removeable and I'd like to do so. What size would work best?
thierry laurent Posted Monday at 05:52 AM Posted Monday at 05:52 AM I tested some years ago and would say there is no hard rule! The diameter mainly depends on the width of the kit pylons and there can be a big difference of weight between a plastic drop tank and its full resin equivalent! Hopefully such magnets are quite cheap (4 to 5 for 1 €/USD) and you can find various small diameters and heights combinations. For instance a 1mm * 1mm neodym magnet can carry around 30 grams but a 2mm * 2mm can support up to 150gr.! So, finally the choice depends on the possibility to hide the magnets and the warload weight. The thinnest I saw had a 0.5mm height! geedubelyer 1
