Work on the cockpit continues, and the cage is coming together now. Running the control lines through the various pulleys was certainly the hardest part of the process, but eventually everything ended up taut and in the right place.

 

 

Control rods were added to the engine controls, and the pulsometer was replaced with the clear part CSM provides.

 

 

Here you can see the replacement 3D printed seat. The additional holes on it are a huge improvement over the plastic one initially included.

 

 

The firewall is also coming together with initial streaks added from various brown tones, streaked both dry and with some white spirit to diffuse them.

 

 

Hoping to get the cockpit finished this week, and then begin working on completing the fuselage around it.  Let me know what you think.

It may not look like much progress has been made, but the cockpit has basically reached completion outside of seatbelts. The rest of the formers and tubes have been added, the compass and rigging are in, and it's about time to assemble the fuselage around the cockpit. The rear headrest was painted in with Vallejo acrylics, slowly layered on to try to bring some texture and shade to the flat piece.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The seat pad was done in a similar manner. A base coat of Gunze Red Brown, and then additional Vallejo shades slowly layered on using drybrushing and brush-painting.

 

 

Please let me know what you think, hopefully the next update is of the fuselage ready for assembly.

Just wanted to say that the cockpit structure is looking superb. It's impossible to single out any one aspect - with such sharp assembly and wonderful texturing, you're creating a work of art.
