As of June 22, someone is dumping a number of Collectaire kits over on the Bay of E.  None are cheap, but what is these days?  We're talking everything from the unobtainium F-7U correction kit to a B-45 to the fairly rare Vigilante.  All in 1/48.

I think this was actually his core business for years.

I guess I was under a rock for so long.  Been an airplane guy forever.

Is there a link?

Also, why is it so common on forums to use cute names for eBay instead of naming it outright? The editor at one site I wrote for even changed a mention using the proper name in a review I wrote!

Probably trying to be funny. Check the 2nd post of this thread by D.Bellis, there's an Ebay link.

This Collectaire kit discussion finally triggered my memory of “Bondo Phil” from my Hyperscale era.  I had just started my hack N wack resin kit build phase.  His Collectaire builds were very impressive.  A great learning experience for me at time.  Those kits really could use up the putty.

I've never built a Collectaire kit - too pricey - but have seen a couple still in the box.  Seems like warped parts were not unusual.  How does one straighten a warped resin wing, for example?

I only got one (second hand) and was possibly very lucky but it is very nice! Obviously having been designed thirty years ago it is not as detailed as a current kit would be but this is still the only 1/32 T-38 ever released!
