Erwin Posted June 22 Posted June 22 (edited) Hi all, Time to join this GB. I shall ,yet again, build a golden oldie Revell kit. Converted to the fighter using the Paragon set. Made a start on the nose. Just a matter of careful cutting and sanding. I won't worry about the cockpit detail not being correct using the kit parts. I do have the correct VAC canopy. It's all about the "overall look" Edited June 23 by Erwin dmthamade, geedubelyer, 2996 Victor and 2 others 5
Erwin Posted June 22 Author Posted June 22 (edited) It's not the first time I've build this kit. Very simple and not much inner detail . Edited June 22 by Erwin Out2gtcha, Phantom2, Kagemusha and 4 others 7
dmthamade Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Paragon Resin, now that's a name from the past... Don Erwin, Sabre F-86 and 2996 Victor 3
dennismcc Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Strangely enough I found a Paragon Mosquito fighter conversion and cockpit in my stash with a lot of other Paragon stuff. I have never seen one built so thank you Erwin. Cheers Dennis Erwin 1
Sabre F-86 Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Paragon did some pretty great stuff. I'm building the same kit, mines a Modelcraft repop. Gotta say, the styrene in this one is pretty damn brittle. And all the clear parts were replaced with vacuform. Not bad but they didn't bother with the wing tip lights. You are right about the simplified details, the cockpit is meh, working on that, using a Tamiya 1/48 scale kit as a pattern. Took me a while to figure out the landing gear, doing a total rework on that including carving out the box that the wheel and tire go into. Anyway, early days yet. Erwin 1

Erwin Posted June 29 Author Posted June 29 Next step is to make the VAC fit. It's the first time I use a VAC part. It's not perfectly clear. It has a yellow shine. geedubelyer, Landrotten Highlander, denders and 4 others 7
Erwin Posted June 30 Author Posted June 30 (edited) Wings are done. No inner detail to worry about. Next is to put them onto the fuselage . Edited June 30 by Erwin geedubelyer and denders 2
Erwin Posted June 30 Author Posted June 30 How long does it take to fix the wing ? 20 min ! Ready for painting. Next pictures will be of the finished build. Stay tuned ! Alain Gadbois, Phantom2, Out2gtcha and 4 others 7
Sabre F-86 Posted Thursday at 05:21 AM Posted Thursday at 05:21 AM Coming along nicely. The Paragon nose fits well, blended in nicely. Erwin 1
