Porsche Posted June 20 Posted June 20 My recently completed Trumpy Swordfish Mk2. I enjoyed building the Mk1 sometime ago and fancied doing another one with the wings 'spread'. I scratch built the radar equipment, added fuses(?) to the rockets and dropped the leading edge slats. As with the Mk1, I abandoned the kits rigging and used stainless steel wire in its place. I painted the kit with Tamiya XF's and weathered it with pastels. I kept the weathering to a minimum, hoping to replicate an aircraft recently introduced into service. On with the snaps... Chris Hi Chris, many thanks for your kind comments! I could have included the TAG's cover and it was my intention to do so. I tried to find out if this aircraft actually had one fitted (as some aircraft didn't have them for some reason?). In the end, I didn't fit a cover but, if at a later date I find out it did have one, I'll retrofit. Well done for spotting the absence and if you could help me with identifying whether or not this aircraft did have one, I'd be most grateful! Thanks very much for taking an interest in the model! The kit is a great place to start your journey into biplane rigging (in my opinion) the struts are a very positive fit and that eases the rigging process. I struggled with the kits pe rigging when I completed the Mk1 and so never even bothered with it when I did this one. I ensured that all the holes were pre-drilled ready to accept the ss wire that I used. The wire is the stuff that florists use for flower arrangements, the only downside with this stuff is that its very easily distorted. I use a pair of draughtsmen dividers to measure the wire, cut to length and secure with ca. Give it a go, it may the be start of you enjoying rigging (I don't enjoy doing it though😀) Cheers Kevin dennismcc 1
