I don’t think Tamiya will ever do the P-38 in 1/32 though I’m content to be proved wrong.

I’d be happy if Airscale, Kotare, Tamiya or Hasegawa did the P-38. Can’t comment on anyone else.

In the unlikely event that a P-38 came from either of the Japanese manufacturers I;d pay the same amount as the Tamiya Mosquito goes for; circa $250-275.

If Kotare made it, I’d pay over $300 and If Airscale made it you could double that.

Kind regards,

Paul

As the P-38 is one of my favorites I would probably go $250 or thereabouts. Like others, my interest has waned somewhat though because of how good their 1/48 kits are. I’ve built 4 so far, 2 F/G and 2 J variants, and have an H in the stash, and it’s just a fantastic kit. That said, if Kotare does one I would probably go for it since it would probably be very much like the Tamiya 1/48 kits.

I do not need or want a P-38.  I was very surprised that Tamiya did not produce any of the Griffon variants.  One can only live life at the time with all fingers crossed for only so long.  Kotare please carry on with this.

DBMK have their design and test builds done for some of their Griffon Spitfires, and if they are anywhere near as good as the Sea Fury, I will be thrilled to get them!

Well, with Tamiya, and for an iconic WW2 fighter to boot, I'd pay up to $350.00.  I have their P-51 and F4U-1D and they are almost "Museum Quality".  I would LOVE a P-38J or later.  It would be quite an investment, because it would take me at least 12 months to complete....if not longer.
