Normally, the forum software doesn't deduct deleted posts from the count, but a few years ago, when we upgraded the forum software, all the stats got recounted from scratch as part of the database update, and I lost a few thousand in the process! (I make a lot of admin posts that only need to exist for a short time, and are then removed.) Kev
