Hubert Actually it depends on what you consider: dimension or volume. Many people underestimate the volume difference until they see close to each other the same item in both scales. Hubert Boillot 1
LSP_Kevin Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Here's a good representation of how deceptive size and scale differences can be. A couple of years back, I printed out a Thanos figure, but decided it was too small, so reprinted it 50% larger. Here's the result: The larger figure looks at least twice as big as the smaller one, but in fact is only 50% larger in linear dimensions. But it's the volumetrics that count here, and the difference is significantly more than 50%! (And for what it's worth, this equates to the difference between 1/72 and 1/48, or 1/48 and 1/32.) Kev Sums it up very ewwell. It is a bit involved to work out changes that don't necessarily want to be linear... Whatever way ya cut it, blanket up scaling does not always play ball. And when very close fit tolerances are involved, it isn't at all straightforward.

Kev it is in fact 3.375 bigger (1.5 ^3) volume-wise … Being a normal (well, ok, that’s debatable 😂) being, i judge things in 3D, not in one dimension … Hubert Polecadt and LSP_Kevin 1 1
