I went for surgery abroad and randomly during that time I met/engaged with the owner of Hataka paints. Now my focus for the last 15 years has been acrylics paints, etc. But in the past I did use Hataka orange line (their lacquer line). I personally think they are some of the best and most accurate lacquer modeling paints. He and I talked about bringing back Hataka line for distribution in the US market.

I would be interested in seeing if that something modelers would like to see and your experience with Hataka orange line?

I used Hataka on my Pzl-11c build. I usually use MRP lacquer but I went with the Hataka. I purchased the Polish paint package (4 colors) direct from Hataka. I poured the colors that I used into a different glass bottle and used Leveling Thinner (I think). I thought they sprayed very well.

I love lacquer paints! For decades I was a devout believer in enamel paint, specifically Model Master, but when they announced they were closing up shop I went to Mr Color and AK Real colors and honestly, I never looked back. I haven't used Hataka paints yet but if they're anything like Mr Color, I'm sure I would love them.

Thats pretty much what i am doing too. I still have a bunch of model master enamels but as they get used up, AK real color, MRP and Mr color are filling in the gaps nicely. I have one set of Hataka paints but have yet to try them as well.

Years ago I used Aero Master enamels, then I fell away from the hobby and when I came back I decided to try my hand at water based and discovered that they hate me and finally wound up with Mr. Color supplemented with AK Real Colors lacquer and I love them.

HOWEVER!
The one big drawback is the fumes. You must have adequate ventilation if you're considering them!

I have always been an ardent advocate of lacquers… until I discovered how to thin and spray the acrylics, especially the new generation aqueous-based Vallejo, AK, Mig-Ammo … and Kaleido, the game-changer.
