scott_t Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Watching this one ....... I have a few of these Trumpy kits with the Zacto conversions for each of them. Was thinking of doing a build for this group with an A model or a B. blackbetty and geedubelyer 2
blackbetty Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 installing the big resin intake is a complcated operation. the lower fuselage is a very wobbly part after one removes the kit intakes, so i attached the fuselage top with tape and used it as a jig. some grinding as per instructions on them is necessary beforehand F`s are my favs, themongoose, geedubelyer and 1 other 4
blackbetty Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 the actuator boxes will be glued to the top of the intakes before sandwiching the assembly between the top and lower part, be careful to not mix up left and right boxes intakes, rear upper part of the intakes and the boxes have been painted white no glue yet denders, Shoggz, Fanes and 3 others 6

blackbetty Posted June 3 Author Posted June 3 (edited) with the lower part, the small shims (as per instructions) added on the inside, still no glue Edited June 3 by blackbetty Isar 30/07, Shoggz, F`s are my favs and 7 others 10
csavaglio Posted June 3 Posted June 3 The zacto intakes are a ton of work to fair in and reshape the plastic where they meet the kits rears and rescribing, but it's so worth it. I'm fairly sure I used the same decal sheet on an A. They worked well but are super thin, might be worth testing an extra on something Looking good! blackbetty 1
blackbetty Posted Friday at 05:50 AM Author Posted Friday at 05:50 AM the lower fuselage is now glued. i used thin fast acting superglue to attach everything in place and thick superglue to reinforce the parts from the back themongoose 1
blackbetty Posted Friday at 05:51 AM Author Posted Friday at 05:51 AM this view is all that work was for themongoose and csavaglio 2
blackbetty Posted Friday at 10:09 AM Author Posted Friday at 10:09 AM next step is gettinmg the trumpy rear engine trunking to fit the new intakes the instructions want you to sand them back to the next panelline about 3cm, but this would be very difficult to get even and result in a scribing nichtmare (which i am not very good at) so first i sanded the immediate front 5mm of the plastic part. this is without alternative, because it gets wider in front LSP_Kevin, themongoose and Shoggz 3
