Tony T Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Not a prop fan but it does look very nice indeed and would make a great companion for its car door predecessor. Airscale most definitely have been busy! Tony CRAZY IVAN5, mozart and Rick Griewski 3
Archimedes Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Uff! That kit photo shows beautifully the brute that the Typhoon was. Hard to resist... Kind regards, Paul mozart and CRAZY IVAN5 2

CRAZY IVAN5 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 I'd most definitely go for one of these if I didn't already have the big Airfix Tiffie on the display shelf. This one's gonna be nice though!
monthebiff Posted May 28 Posted May 28 I would like one of these, however I need a Do 17Z so will have to pass on this one sadly. Regards. Andy IainM, mozart, Zola25 and 1 other 4
Diz Posted May 29 Posted May 29 I'm all over this one. The car door is ok, but the late war bubble top, with rockets, working out on German armor is the deal for me. mozart and John1 2

Bear in mind Diz that if absolute accuracy is important to you, the Airscale bubble top uses the earlier fuselage with the slightly smaller horizontal tailplanes, so a truly late Typhoon, a four blader for instance, wouldn’t be “possible”. The serial range and features is something like this: Archimedes, John1, CRAZY IVAN5 and 4 others 5 2

Tempting it is! Regards. Andy mozart and Uncarina 2
mozart Posted May 30 Author Posted May 30 I need to build a four blader too Andy, may have to change my plans for the (stalled) MDC one. monthebiff 1

"The upgrade pack includes: New sidewalls and door infills New Exhausts New 'Cuckcoo Clock' Radiator & Dust Filter New Windshield & Blown Canopy (From DBMK Sea Fury) New rear deck parts New Gunsight mount 44 gallon external fuel tanks (exclusive to original & pre-order customers)" It was back in March it was offered for a 30 day time limit to order the set. It actually works out £10 cheaper to buy the latest bubble top kit compared to the car door + conversion set. mozart 1
Diz Posted May 30 Posted May 30 When I ordered my bubble top, Peter was saying on line somewhere that only those who ordered the car door version would be able to buy the bubble top mods separately, which makes sense, to reward those that supported you first. I don't know if that has changed, now that they have had the first shot at them? We would need to talk to Peter. In my case I ordered the bubble top package but then got antsy so I asked him if I could switch my order to a car door, and he said sure, no worries. As long as I didn't care about paying extra shipping to get the bubble top mods, which I didn't. Now I am hoping I can catch him before he ships the car door, so I can switch back to the combined package. But either way, I will just be glad to get the bubble top. Question: If I wanted to do a late war bubble top, with the 4-blade, and larger empennage, could I just snag those parts out of the SH Tempest V kit and carry on? I have 2 of SH and Barracuda nose kits, so I have the donor parts. mozart 1
