Just read on Facebook that Zimi Model has acquired selected toolings from Dragon, and will continue to produce these plastic kits under a new label: DRAMi Model.

Dragon Models Ltd. and Zimi Model Technology Co., Ltd. are pleased to announce that Zimi Model has acquired selected scale model kit mould assets from Dragon Models Ltd. This transaction marks an important new chapter for both companies: allowing selected classic Dragon tooling assets to continue reaching the global modeling community, while Dragon Models Ltd. continues its evolution toward intellectual property, 3D technology, digital assets, licensing, and future creative applications.

Moving forward, Zimi Model will independently launch, operate, and manage the relevant product lines under its newly established exclusive brand, DRAMi Model. As part of Zimi Model’s brand portfolio, DRAMi Model has been established with the aim of carrying forward the spirit long associated with Dragon’s classic model products: quality, fine detail, authenticity, and respect for historical accuracy.

Very interesting how Zimi are rolling up tooling and then adding their own twist with 3D printed extras. The 3D stuff is extensive when it comes to the Kitty Hawk helos they are now selling. Just look at the bits they've added to their AH/MH-6 kit. Could be an interesting way to breathe new life into tooling that is either a bit dated or had issues yet sold reasonably well.
