I'm curious about the recessed longitudinal lines in the fabric surfaces. Thanks for sharing your videos Andy. Hi Guy, they're not my videos, posted via Britmodeller. CRAZY IVAN5 and geedubelyer 2

It does look as though Kötare have included that feature too. I suspect the subtle trenches are where the wing structure is but I have never noticed it being depicted in that manner before. Watching those videos was very encouraging. Although I don't expect I'll treat myself to a fabric winged Hurricane it's unlikely I'll resist buying a metal winged offering when Kötare release those. I'm thinking BoB era in green, earth and sky, twin cannon fitted black night fighter with red codes (a la currently painted BBMF airframe) or dk earth, stone, blue 6sqdn "Flying can-openers". Will I be able to choose just one though Edited May 25 by geedubelyer

You mean the chord-wise detail? That would be the top of the wing ribs that have a kind of 'u' cross section, resulting in 'tramlines' where the ribs are. CRAZY IVAN5 and geedubelyer 1 1
mozart Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) Just watched and thoroughly enjoyed both videos, the attention to detail from Kotare is very commendable, including such features as the previously mentioned diagonal tape joins across the wings, visible here on a Hawker Demon: (though these will need gentle sanding back) and the “D” release mechanisms in the wheel hub centres. But the one point that really puzzles me is that there is no provision (as there is on the PCM fabric-wing Hurricane) to build the very early ones without the ventral strake on the lower rear fuselage nor the early “kidney” exhausts. Plenty of scope for the AM chaps. According to Troy Smith on BM, with the Kotare set up only about 400 Hurricane serials can be accurately modelled, hopefully Troy will produce a list. Dpgsbody55 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 It's disappointing that Kotare haven't included a part for the lower fuselage without the ventral strake and no kidney exhausts, so hopefully the after market will step in soon. But the kit looks great anyway, so I'm still eagerly anticipating the arrival of mine when it's released. I was pleased with the surface detail from what I've seen in the videos and overall, I hope we'll see more Hurricanes in the WIP pages this year. Let's see how Kotare develop their Hurricane. If they do Mk.II, they'll need to do a longer fuselage, as it was approximately twelve inches longer, mostly in the nose. I'm also hoping the aftermarket will support this well. I wouldn't mind doing a Finnish Hurricane at some later stage. Cheers, Michael mozart 1
Diz Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Go Kotare! Hurricane on pre-order. I have thoroughly enjoyed building your Spitfires. On lotto, as was said, you'll never please everybody. I'd say all of the above; pass some out to influencers, where there will be some ROI, then run a lotto for us commoners to add our bit. The whole point of this exercise should be to get the reviews out there early and increase sales. If peeps don't understand that, they've never been in business. Then, the same people will ***** and moan because there are not enough pre-views out there, right? Props for trying though; I think it's clear that this company is built by modelers, for modelers. Oh yeah, waiting to drop the hammer on a P-47 pre-order. And a Spitfire Mk VcT And maybe a Typhoon MK 1b OK, and a Lysander Mk III(SD) Dpgsbody55 and Mark Robson 2
Dpgsbody55 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Yes, a Kotare Spitfire MkVc with tropical filter is the next Spitfire release I'm waiting for. Cheers, Michael PS. I think I could go broke buying Kotare models..... ColinR and Kagemusha 1 1
Diz Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Too right mate! Byt then you'd just piss it away on things like food and housing. I wanted to say beer and ...., but anyways, go Kotare! Dpgsbody55, Shoggz and CRAZY IVAN5 3
