LSP_Kevin Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Just read the news on Facebook that Alley Cat Models is now wholly owned by Models For Sale, who were previously the point-of-sale for Alley Cat products. https://www.facebook.com/modelsforsaleltd/posts/pfbid0368AEhiVcVdbikYgQ5c2k1XDLQxc8NFG1iE5gePAPn37Sttxn48nc6B4CeVBjqYJQl?rdid=p7qrpoiYaz0nyZeQ For those of you who don't have Facebook, here's the text: "We are pleased to announce we are now the owners of Alley Cat models and in possession of nearly all of the masters. Many plans in the pipeline but mainly as you will guess we are moving away from resin casting and going 3D Printing all in-house. It will take some time to get it back up and running again so please bear with us. As we need to go through the masters and asses what is re-usable as what is to be produced going forward. And lastly thanks to the previous owner Alec for a smooth transaction and for his future involvement." Hopefully we'll see some of these products back on the market again (hoping for the Bf 109G-12 conversion personally). Kev Isar 30/07, Roy Noras, mozart and 12 others 10 5
Sabrejet Posted May 11 Posted May 11 "going forward" ugh. The move to 3D-printed is as welcome as the management speak. BiggTim, Sturmbock and ThunderDog 2 1
mozart Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I can’t see the link between having the Alleycat (resin presumably) masters and moving into 3DP? What am I missing? BiggTim and morane 2

I love 3D printing, and I use it a LOT, but I still prefer well cast parts to printed for the final product. 1 hour ago, chrish said: Ya, but are they asses? Aerophile Posted May 12 Posted May 12 I only have one Alley Cat conversion kit and it’s for the Ki100 bubble canopy. To be honest I’m not impressed by the casting quality. It looked quite rough. Of course it could just be my particular kit. It may not be indicative of their work in general. D Bellis and BiggTim 2

Funny you should mention that, as just today I updated our build guide on that conversion project to v1.2: https://www.klp.com.au/product/building-the-hasegawa-alley-cat-ki-100-in-1-32-scale/ Apologies for the slightly obnoxious promo! Steve Eagle Posted May 12 Posted May 12 (edited) I did the AlleyCat Ki-100 conversion a number of years ago. It was pretty nice as I recall. I had to a few additional tweaks, but it turned out well. Its nice that the line is going forward again. Edited May 12 by Steve Eagle
