Sasha As Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Hello to everyone on the forum. I’m pleased to present my latest project: a Border “Kate” in the 1:35 scale, which is unusual for aviation models. The assembly went smoothly; I had no issues with the fit or the quality of the parts. In some places, you’ll need to deviate from the instructions, but that will all become clear to anyone who builds this kit. Especially the propeller and engine assembly. However, in terms of how closely it resembles the real Kate aircraft, it’s not great. But that’s the company’s style with this model. I kept it as is.))) I documented the build in the relevant section; everything is detailed there. Enjoy the build log, everyone! Edited May 10 by Sasha As olgerd83, Mal_Belford, RBrown and 29 others 31 1
scvrobeson Posted May 10 Posted May 10 This looks absolutely amazing Sasha. You did a great job on the Kate, it really shines here. Matt Sasha As and Martinnfb 1 1
geedubelyer Posted May 10 Posted May 10 That's some great paintwork Sasha, well done. I am struck by how exaggerated the fabric effects are on the control surfaces. I know very little about Japanese WWII aircraft but I can't believe that is accurate? No reflection on your mastery of the craft but that surface effect detracts from your finished model. Were they really like that? The treatment of the metal surfaces is much more restrained. Thanks for sharing the finished model. I'm sure this will be a useful reference for many fans of this era of Japanese aircraft. Cheers, Guy Martinnfb and Sasha As 1 1
