Thunnus Posted May 26 Posted May 26 NIce work, Tom! I like how DBMK provides the terminal ends for the hydraulic/electric lines in the wheel bay. Uncarina 1

The more I build this kit the more I appreciate the thought and attention to detail that DBMK put into it. Cheers, Tom
Greif8 Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Really nice scratchbuilding on those hydraulic lines Tom, they look fantastic! Ernest Uncarina 1

Uncarina Posted June 13 Author Posted June 13 It has been a while! We just returned from Malta this week--such a rich culture, history, cousine, and environment! I've had a little time to continue work on the landing gear bay which is easily the most intricate I've ever assembled: I'm not even done yet. Meanwhile, I decided to attach the upper wing to the fuselage. My thinking is that the wing to fuselage joint is quite visible, so I wanted to ensure the best fit without any potential distortion from gluing the upper and lower wing sections. The fit is quite good: Cheers, Tom patricksparks, geedubelyer, Gazzas and 7 others 10
geedubelyer Posted June 13 Posted June 13 The joint looks excellent Tom. It will be good to see how this works out for those of us yet to build ours. Very good.

Thanks! I was pretty impressed with the fit. It went into position with minimal adjustment, no taping or clamping needed. Cheers, Tom geedubelyer 1

The way you have done your wings is just as I did with my FLY Hurricane with many 'dry fit' checks, as it has no locating aids. It certainly paid dividends. I'm thinking the Sea Fury will be a lot less hassle! Uncarina 1
Uncarina Posted June 13 Author Posted June 13 We loved it--such a diverse vibrant culture with history everywhere--from the ancient terraced hillsides to the immense castles and cathedrals. We'd love to go back. The upper wing slides into position with the fuselage cutout so that there's just one way it will fit--very gratifying! Cheers, Tom geedubelyer 1
