Uncarina Posted May 23 Author Posted May 23 And here's that update: I've closed up the fuselage after assembling the exhausts and tailwheel structures: The fit was exemplary, and I just needed to sand down some short segments along the upper and lower aft fuselage. Something to keep in mind with this kit is the plastic is relatively soft so it's easy to create scratches where you are sanding. I'd recommend starting with a finer grit than you might usually use. This will actually save time because you won't have to go back and fill in the scratches. I was pleasantly surprised that more of the cockpit is visible than I envisioned.The details are there if you have a penlight! There's a fine seam on either side of the cockpit where the fit could be better but it's an easy fix with Vallejo, Perfect Plastic Putty, or even Elmers glue. Something else to keep in mind is that you will have to fill some seams along the cowling: I've been using the Phoenix Publications recent release as a reference, but there's abundant information on the web as well. I've moved on to the landing gear bay and the wings. I'm actually enjoying adding the lead wire, and the kit instructions are very helpful with this. I'm also pleased to see that the fit of the upper and lower wing sections to the fuselage looks very good when dry fitted. Cheers, Tom LSP_Kevin, denders, monthebiff and 14 others 17

Uncarina Posted May 25 Author Posted May 25 Another brief update: I added wiring to the landing gear bay using the diagrams in the instructions using 0.015" (0.4 mm) lead wire. The process was actually more enjoyable than I thought it would be, and took just over an hour. Now I have to finish the rest of the gear bay!
