Duncan Doenitz Posted April 19 Posted April 19 As the collection of paints grows at an alarming rate to cover model options that I may build, pigments tend to settle out over time. This is particularly true of my go-to choice of airbrush ready lacquer paints that need an excessive amount of agitation to blend the various component parts back into a single shade. I recently opened jars of clear red and green for the bulbs in wingtip navigation lights which required the usual cocktail stick performance to stir up the contents. Having retrieved the inevitable broken ends from the jar, enough was enough. I now have an electric gizmo that does the job wonderfully. There appear to be two types available where you either hold the bottle / jar against a vibrating silicone pad or the container is clamped within a sturdy crocodile clip. I went for the latter as it leaves your hands free to get on with other stuff. If anyone wished to get one around £50 GBP or $60 USD on the big river website, search for "Mini Vortex Mixer" and there will be a few choices. The surprise is that mine is USB powered but that's not an issue. I can now have the next colour whizzing away while I clean the brush. Result ! geedubelyer 1

There are paints that I thought were no good...and this mixer got them back. Highly recommended.

Got a similar item from HLJ after shoulder surgery as I couldn’t “shake vigorously “ otherwise….. soooo wish I had found sooner….. I fit bottles into the gizmo right way up, vibrate, then flip upside down and vibrate….. top job done. Just get one. Nick KUROK 1
