Here is my rendition of the Italeri Macchi C.200 Saetta. IMO a much better kit than their previous C.202 Folgore and 205 Veltro.
Well-researched and including some minute unexpected details. The general fit is very good providing each part is thoroughly cleaned up before assembly. Just a minute amount of putty was used during this build. You can find a build log HERE.

I chose to represent the Macchi in one of the transition camouflage schemes of the pre-Tavola X period. Before the implementation of the Tavola X which regulated the paints and camouflage schemes, aircraft factories used their own paint brands and camouflage schemes. Thus the colours used were at best random even when regrouped under the same denomination: giallo mimetico (yellow), bruno mimetico (brown), verde mimetico ( green) and grigio azzurro (grey).
These are my interpretations of these colours based on b/w period photos and descriptions from the numerous Italian experts.
I also chose to depict the idiosyncrasies of the two main C.200 builders on each side of the fuselage, Macchi on the port and Breda on the starboard.

Like I said, these are my interpretation. Hopefully it will fit your own mental image.

Excellent quality work! Am glad to hear that Italeri is making improvements to this line.

Will definitely add this kit to the stash.

Great to see another Macchi completed.  Shall bookmark this when I get to my own C.200 build.  Nice work, Quang.

I found him at a local model show in an unmarked plastic bag.

I later learned he’s a 1/32 WWII French Pilot from THE BODI, an Hungarian brand. I guess he went transalpine by the time I got him 😇

Highly skilled and very beautiful work Quang!  Both the camo paint and scratchbuilding really stand out.

Thank you @Cicchino @Greif8 for your kind words.

Indeed the camouflage of Reggia Aeronautica in WWII is an intriguing and complex matter especially in the case of the Macchi C.200 which, because of its timeline, wore a greater variety of schemes and colours than the siblings 202 and 205 that followed.

At times I’m toying with the idea of building a second Saetta just for the opportunity to dig deeper into the intricacies of the camouflage.

Who knows what tomorrow brings?  😇
