LSP_Kevin Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I received the following email from John at Marsh Models yesterday: Quote Sadly, we have decided to discontinue the Aerotech range as it is becoming so very expensive to produce these models. However, we do have some end of stock kits that we will be selling at 50% of normal cost (shown below) The kits in question are as follows: AT32010 Macchi M67 AT32024 Messerschmitt Me 209V1 AT32025 Bugatti 100P It's sad news, and the end of yet another traditional resin kit producer, as the industry transitions wholesale to 3D printing. Please join me in thanking John and Pam for their contributions to our hobby over the years, and wishing them all the best for the future. Kev Christa, MikeC, Stefano and 8 others 5 6
Sabrejet Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Thankfully Marsh still exists for their exquisite race car kits; their customer service has few parallels. It's a shame to lose the Aerotech range (and anything that might have been coming along) but thankfully we still have a few traditional resin producers to satisfy that itch. Pete Roberts 1

They helped me with a couple of canopies from their 1/32 Spitfire prototype kit some years ago for a PR Spitfire windscreen. I only wanted one but they supplied two. They come across as a very customer centric company. Sabrejet and Christa 2
MikeC Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) Sad to see this. I've only built one of theirs, the Mew Gull,as a WIP on this forum. It was a very good experience, especially as I'm not a fan of resin kits in general. Edited March 29 by MikeC RCPlym 1

thierry laurent Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Thanks very much Kev! I just have the DH Comet from their range and hesitated for years to get the Messerschmitt prototype as it is not the specific mark I have the highest interest in for what stayed a quite hefty retail price. Your message changed the situation as it looks we will not get the other sub-versions and I will not get another opportunity for such a discounted amount. Case closed. I just ordered it! Christa 1

I'm finding the diminishing amount of 1:32 scale jet-shaped plastic similarly confining in a welcome way. My path never went near Marsh Models, but it's always slightly sad to see another manufacturer bow out of the aviation scene. I wish them well, Tony Archimedes, Sabrejet, MikeC and 1 other 4
IainCleland Posted March 30 Posted March 30 I bought all of their Schneider Trophy racers apart from the M67 and also the comet and Lindbergh’s Spirit of St Louis. They are excellent kits and were about the £150 mark when I bought them some years ago. Sad to see them go as I have a big interest in 1930s racers. The only issue I had was that some parts were missing from the Spirit of St Louis which John quickly sent.
RCPlym Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I managed to get a Mew Gull just yesterday, although not from Marsh Models themselves, but from Rails of Sheffield, at just under Marsh's normal retail. I had not heard of them at all due to missing out so many years of modelling and would have liked a few more of them now. MikeC 1
Archimedes Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Damn…this means scratching-up a DH-88. C’est la vie. Sad to see the Aerotech line go but glad their superlative cars will still be available. Kind regards, Paul
NigTT Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I’ve built their Supermarine S6, Macchi M52, Gloster IV, Savoia Marchetti S.65 and the Mew Gull. In the stash I have 2 DH88’s, an M67 and a few months ago I managed to get an ultra rare MC72 for next to nothing. Unfortunately I missed out on the Supermarine S4 and S5. A real challenge to build, but ultimately rewarding and where else can you get Schneider racers in 1/32. Shame they have stopped, especially as they had a Gloster V as a possible future release, but I can understand it wasn’t as productive for them as the car side of things.

The S4 was the first kit I built and my favourite Schneider racer, I also built the S5, S6,M52, M39, MC72 and Gloster IV. I have their S.65, comet and Spirt of St Louis in my stash and yesterday I grabbed their M67 at half price. I also built Profil24 1/24 Gloster VI golden arrow. Edited April 1 by IainCleland NigTT 1
