Greif8 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Going to visit the store now Jim! I wonder how my wife would react to Kubelwagen girl?!! Ernest
Jim Barry Posted April 27 Author Posted April 27 It's dawning on me that it might be in my best interest, and I guess everyone's interest to offer my standard inventory of printed models in 1/32. I'm a dedicated 1/24 person myself, but I get it. The volume is 1/32. I'm uploading the Luftwaffe Pilot and dog figures as 1/32 today. That will be my new direction for the standard inventory. Custom requests can be any scale of course. Greif8 and RCPlym 2

geedubelyer Posted May 5 Posted May 5 (edited) This 1/32nd scale figure was designed by Jim from a front facing photo. It was printed for me by another LSPer (thanks @RCPlym) Although it's not a perfect likeness of the subject it is still remarkable what AI can do. Perhaps the only way to recreate an individual perfectly is a 3D scan which is obviously impossible for historical figures. I added the glass lenses to the face but the frames printed out perfectly and I could easily have used clear resin to simulate clear glass in the frames. The helmet is not entirely correct but I believe @jeroenpeters found that he had to surplant the AI versions with alternatives in his Me262 dio? All in all this is quite fascinating. With no rear view offered I added the webbing but the flying suit was all generated from scratch by the software. Clever stuff. Thanks for creating this Jim Cheers, Guy Edited May 5 by geedubelyer RCPlym, Jim Barry, Greif8 and 1 other 4
RCPlym Posted May 5 Posted May 5 (edited) I say! You didn't scrub up too bad! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Edit: the glasses frame rims printing out so fine was impressive! Edited May 5 by RCPlym Jim Barry and geedubelyer 1 1
Jim Barry Posted May 5 Author Posted May 5 My pleasure! He’s (You’re?) awesome. Nice work with the next steps, too geedubelyer 1
Jim Barry Posted May 6 Author Posted May 6 (edited) Pulled on this today. Now in my 9th year of making 3D files for my models, I guess it’s time I do the printing, too. It not exactly part of Valkyrie Designs but it could be. Definitely good for testing and I’m not adverse to selling some prints. We’ll see! @RCPlym Edited May 6 by Jim Barry RCPlym, Greif8, Martinnfb and 1 other 4

You'll not go wrong with that one. Excellent price too! Nearly £200 cheaper than the same bundle in the UK!!! I need to make room for the one I have repaired. I only ran a couple of test piece prints and it printed beautifully. Jim Barry 1
Jim Barry Posted May 7 Author Posted May 7 I really like this idea of the RAF pilot kissing his girl goodbye. Drama. My wife loved it. Some tuning required geedubelyer, Martinnfb and Out2gtcha 3
mozart Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Two points about the male figure Jim; I have never seen a photo of a WW2 pilot wearing an Irvine jacket that had pilot’s wings on the breast and ranking insignia ie rings, in this case Flying Officer, on the sleeve. Jim Barry, Greif8 and Out2gtcha 2 1
Jim Barry Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 (edited) Here's an update: I had to separate the couple because their faces were just too distorted when they were actually kissing. This seems as nice. The uniforms aren't perfect but they are not bad. No more insignia on the coat but it might benefit from sanding off a few errata like objects. I wondered if he should have boots here but my research suggests officers would go to the mission briefing in their dress uniforms and then suit up for the actual flight. Now I'm not sure if they would wear their Irvin jacket in this case also, but let's go with it. I have a printer now and will print and paint my designs as part of the product page. At least that's the plan. Thanks for checking in! Edited May 10 by Jim Barry patricksparks, Martinnfb, mozart and 3 others 6
Jim Barry Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 I also doubt she’d have her hair down in uniform in sight of a plane but I wanted it for dramatic effect Greif8 1
