George Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Gents: I recently purchased Humbrol Acrylic Spray Paint Yellow #69 to use for Airfix's 1/24 James Bond 007 Autogyro. I want to buy the bottle version of Acrylic Yellow #69 to cover the seams and do not wish to decanter the spray paint. Nor do I want to buy another paint brand. Has anyone used Humbrol Spray Paints and bottled paints of the same color and found they are exact colors? I ask because I experienced other hobby paint brands like AK Interactive with four different shades of RLM 79 (1941) Sand Yellow (Version 1) with FOUR different colors of RLM 79! Crazy!
geedubelyer Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Hi George. I would expect colour differences from spray can to paint tin. I have no experience of this except in the car world. A touch-up pencil is not the same colour as a spray can even when mixed by the same facility. Apparently it has something to do with atomization and application even where exactly the same paint components are mixed. I hope I'm wrong for your sake though. Good luck.
