( still going to the Vic though, need info for the Heller 1/100 kit  )

Hi Mike, nope, not pics, my hands will be full of joy stick.

Did order a video to be taken though.

D is tagging along on the sidekick 'plane, so she will take some pics

( So....I guess I will need another kit and a two seater conversion 🤪)

Yes, I know, pics or it's not real !

Don't need to, the flight guys already have that sorted.

Spitfires.com

I did the 45 min flight with chase plane (six seater) for family, with aerobatics, and the video.

I am 65 and have already outlived my Dad by nearly 10 years. I reckon the only thing I can take to my hole in the ground is my memories. So.. the old saying is "whoever dies with the most toys wins".

May I modify that to "with the most memories" ??

Excellent, and what a great place to do it from.  In fact, quite appropriate for an American:  In 1944 VCS-7 came ashore from their various Battleships, did some type conversion training with one of the American Spitfire Tac-Recce units, then flew Spitfire Mk Vs from Lee-on-Solent as part of the Fleet Spotting Pool.  The mission was spotting for the Fleet's guns over the beaches on D-Day.

Aside from that, the whole area is extremely historic.  Apart from being a huge Naval centre, there is plenty of aviation history as well, and it was a major centre for D-Day.  Here's a few photos I took when I visited a year or three ago

How long are you in the area?  I can give you a list of visit recommendations.

But of course, the main aim is the flight.  Enjoy it!!

Very exciting for you Pete. Savour every moment.

This may sound strange but I hope you have some fluffy white clouds on the day for two reasons.

One, they'll make a great backdrop for the in-flight photos and two, the air may allow you to feel the aircraft alive beneath you.

:)

Have fun.

Cheers,

Guy
