Rick K Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I secured this kit at our local club IPMS/NOVA meeting. The price was right and I always want to build this. The 1:32 HPH offering was out of my price range. Paul in Napier, Shoggz, LSP_Ray and 6 others 9
LSP_Kevin Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I've got one in the stash to build too, Rick, so will be following along with your build. I also have the HpH kit, but I suspect I should start with this one first! Kev Rick K and LSP_K2 2

Rick K Posted February 10 Author Posted February 10 (edited) Since the Ta154 never saw combat I'm going to be a little creative and build as a deployed livery with in overall black. Using a Ju88 all black livery as a model. Kagero #51 Moskito book will be used as reference for details, etc. Of course I’m throwing in some aftermarket: Montext masks Eduard "steel" belts QuickBoost exhaust QuickBoost undercarriage doors Fusion FW190D11 Propeller Master FuG220 radar AirScale instrument decals PeddingHaus nachtjäer wappen decals A $5 kit with >$50 aftermarket stuff. Reminds me of young drivers installing $15,000 of sound equipment in their $2,000 car. 😂 Edited February 10 by Rick K tucohoward, Shoggz, KiwiZac and 5 others 8
Rick K Posted February 10 Author Posted February 10 Using Master FuG220 offering as the kit FuG220 parts were broken. I'm going to solder the antennas to diapoles. Using masking tape as a jig I secure the antenna and diapoles with heat resistant tape. Solder paste applied, think "pin head" size at the joins. Then touch tip of diapole with solder gun and the heat delivers to the joins and melts solder. Success! A nice clean join. LSP_K2, Kais, Sasha As and 14 others 17

FYI - The wings are warped. I steeped in hot water for a few seconds and straightened the best I could. Not perfect, clearly an improvement. LSP_Kevin 1

Rick K Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 The rear of the IP is visible through windscreen. And here we go... While I'm at it I'll drill out opening for the RADAR Hood. A little cleaning out with knife up next. LSP_Kevin, LSP_K2, patricksparks and 1 other 4
Rick K Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 After painting IP Gunze 116 RLM66 white Ultra Wire is inserted and epoxied. RADAR operators panel gets some gnat size decal love. Over 40 decals Airscale Luftwaffe Placards and MDC Luftwaffe instruments are placed. Tedious yes, results worth it. Hopefully will be seen. Wiring on the floor is from reference photos and educated guess. The cockpit is spacious and I want to "busy up" empty space. The IP gauge wiring is trimmed back. Almost ready to button up the fuselage. But WEIGHT! LSP_Kevin, Shoggz, patricksparks and 3 others 6
