Das Werk 1/32 Me 262?

Now I did not see that coming! Given that there's already a couple of decent kits out there, it strikes me as an interesting choice. Mechanic figures are definitely welcome, too!

Just confirmed that it is in fact a new tool, and not a rebox of one of the existing kits.

Happy to see a new 262 kit! Das Werk kits have been very detailed and enjoyable to build.

 

It was rumored that Border was working on a 262 design also. However Border kits have been a bit hit or miss, so I welcome this release and will be getting one 😊

Thanks for the heads up. Very pleased to see this news - whilst i like the Me262, it's more about Das Werk coming into the mainstream for 1/32.

 

I still reckon the 262 is on Kotare's radar sometime in the future (nothing more than gut feel btw), but if it's half decent I reckon i would give it a go

Great news. In the YouTube video the shape of the wingtips look not right, but it probably is an early prototype 3D print and hopefully this will be corrected. Compare with the photo below: 

 

 

Best is probably to wait for the actual kit to check for accuracy. The Revell kit is accurate but not the easiest to build. If the kit of Das Werk is as accurate but easier to assemble that would be amazing.

Hopefully there’s a Gun Bay closed up option in there too. I’ve tried with the Trumpeter and Revell kits more than once but always struggled with those parts which are designed to be open and not closed. Waiting to see what the new Revell release with the big old cannon has as an option. I do like the shark like lines of the 262. Might just be a buy if there’s an option to have it all closed up without fighting the fit of the gun bay doors.

There is, and it's designed to self-align with the surrounding panel edges.

Also Large Scale..a Sd. Kfz. 250/3 in 1/16 scale! . Saw it up for pre-order for only 70 Euros!

One thing im noticing is missing from the boxart list of stuff "included" is a detailed engine. 

Will be interesting to see if it's just a "tube" or there's a little detail.

I would like to see this kit focused on building nicely, the 262 is an ideal subject if someone wants more detail to add it as the Engines are their own pod, so companies like reskit could go to town for those that want more detail.  I don't need over kill interior detail, give me an excellent cockpit, wheel bays and engine fronts and backs, that should do.  I do not need to build every part of the motors.  In 1/48 I thought Tamiya pretty much nailed the ideal 262, I build one of those years ago and it was a really nice build.
