Looks like 2026 will be quite an irregular year, so why not join in by painting up some VF-17 Corsairs? Our latest digital download is an addendum to our F4U-1A Corsair Essential Mask set for the 1/32 Tamiya kit. The Essential Set provides downloadable designs to cut at home on your Silhouette or Cricut for the clear parts, prop tips, wheels, standard insignia (two styles), wing walks, and our favorite little flourish: a mask to paint the windscreen sealant.

The VF-17 Addendum adds the unique inboard position of the lower, bordered insignia and plane numbers for Blackburn's 1, Hedrick's 17, Cunningham's 22, Streig's 3, and both of Kepford's 29s. Included are masks for the numbers on the gear doors and the front of the lower cowl: pictures show Blackburn's 1 has it there, so we include masks for all of them just in case. Orders to also paint it there came from the US Navy Department of Redundancy Department.

Speaking of Blackburn, we include a mask for "BIG HOG' on the vertical fin, and for the unique skull-and-crossbones appearing in one picture of Hedrick's 17. We give you spares in case you want to depict it on both sides. Use kit or aftermarket decals for the VF-17 squadron badge, victory markings, and stencils.

Our other new release lets you download Overspray Masks for the 1/32 GWH Hawk 81A-2/P-40B. Cut these from 2 or 3mm craft foam to mask off the wheel wells, cockpit, and intakes. That will get you ready to paint your own shark's teeth; our first AVG mask set is almost ready.

After that we'll crack open the 1/24 Airfix 109 that just landed at our door. We'll do an Essential Mask set including vertical fin markings based on those we designed for our Kotare K-4 set. Then maybe camouflage masks? Any suggestions?
