John1 Posted November 30 Posted November 30 I seem to recall some drama associated with these guys from way back in the day. I actually thought they went under but the appear to still be in business. Anyone have any experience ordering from them? Any quality issues?
csavaglio Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Dave set up the current site, fine art of decals to sell off remaining cutting edge decal stock. As far as I know, all of the sheets he sells are new old stock. I have had no issues with Dave over the years and I last ordered 3 or 4 years ago. There's no reason not to order from him if he's got something you're after, but the decals could be quite old since all have been out of print for 10-20 years. I do get occasional newsletter updates from him still. The CE, Yellow Hammer and related decals I have in the stash have been in a dark, dry, temp controlled environment and still perform great. I last used a set on my F-100 build I posted with zero issues. They have generally been as good as they were nearly 20 years ago. C John1 1
Rob Owens Posted November 30 Posted November 30 (edited) I've ordered from Dave Klaus (fineartofdecals.com) several times for both Cutting Edge & Yellowhammer decals. Quality of product and service remain second to none. Edited November 30 by Rob Owens John1 and Rick Griewski 2
pacificmustang Posted December 4 Posted December 4 I recently used a set on my 1/48 Lightning. They are well printed, but these particular decals refused to stay stuck! Possibly the adhesive may have gone off? I'm not sure. They are the only set I have used that have had this problem. Other sets I have used have been fine. Many people also used them back in the day without problem. As people have mentioned they are quite old decals now. Dave himself is fine to deal with. I have ordered decals as recently as a couple of months ago without issue. Bruce
