Takes a bit of work but is well worth the effort. @Phartycr0c Dave - your C47 is indeed huge but far more than that, you showed what could be done with the kit and this is a stellar build! @O.W - Sadly, transport aircraft, even those that were armed at some points (for those that like that sort of thing), do not seem to be huge sellers for the manufacturers. I am just glad that HpH did the C-47 and the DC-3. I was fortunate enough to be able to pull the trigger on a DC-3. I don’t see another manufacturer doing this airframe even though its significance cannot be overstated in the development of flight. Kind regards, Paul Anthony in NZ, Out2gtcha, O.W and 2 others 4 1
Christa Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 If HpH went bump - broke? - could their C-47/DC 3 moulds become available to another manufacturer? My father's first and only flight was homeward from the Rhine, in April 1945 aboard an RAF Dakota. He said it was uncomfortable, very noisy and it shook rattled and lurched alarmingly, but it got him back to England in hours not days. He also said the pilots were the oldest pilots he ever met, but they were very friendly men - calm, confident and reassuring to a young soldier who had a fear of flying. Dad said he had seen too many aircraft tumbling. CRAZY IVAN5, Anthony in NZ, Phartycr0c and 3 others 6

It is a bit of a labour of love but the kit (if you can get one) is more than buildable. Archimedes 1

Unfortunately the model manufacturing arm is kaput and given the majority of their kits were cast resin using rubber moulds, unfortunately I don't think another manufacturer will go down the line of the C 47 without having to start from scratch. ThunderDog Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 One solution of course, is build it from scratch. I want to build a C-46 and a Shorts Stirling. Never going to see a mainstream, affordable kit in 1/48. let alone 1/32 scale for either of those,(that is until i've nearly completed the scratch build project, lol). My plan is to buy RC plans, scale them down to 1/32, laser cut (3d print?) frames, ribs and spars, with notches for stringers. Then skin them with tin foil. Suddenly wondering if making the skins from a "sandwich of aluminum foil on both sides of a paper towel might give me a flexible, non-sagging skin material that might be more workable than just plain foil, and easier to work than thin aluminum sheet. Glue together with PVA probably.. An idea i can test this morning 😮 Uncarina 1
mattcour Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 1/32 C-47 would be great. A gunship would be awesome! Question: What do we consider "affordable" here? US$ 300-350 range maybe? That would be a huuuge kit so I wouldn't expect anything less in IM or 3DP, considering we are nowadays talking about $500 for an F-4B in 1/32.
Mirek O Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 Hi, HpH Models is still alive. We’ve only changed our approach to production and distribution. The model market has seen a significant decline; we are mainly model builders ourselves, and we do everything out of enthusiasm and love for our hobby. But the hobby must not become too expensive. In other words, production has to at least pay for itself. No one is going to subsidize a company long-term. Some models are available through: https://www.mn-modelar.cz/plastic-models?creator[]=911&=1,1&pg=1. Models that have the main parts such as fuselage, wings, etc. made from fiberglass (B-52, BV, Concorde, etc.) can be ordered directly from me. However, there is a waiting list and a longer delivery time. My email is mirek@eebc.art or mirek@namitech.com. Hopefully this will make someone happy. tomprobert Posted November 17, 2025 Posted November 17, 2025 There is a 1/32 vac that was done by Combat Models - sadly I didn’t pull the trigger in time before Jeff ceased producing kits. The HpH version was (and is) sadly out of my price range and I too would love to see a new, modern, IM kit released. Maybe it’s something HobbyBoss might tackle one day (let’s hope the A team are put on it if so) or maybe HK..? Christa, O.W and Uncarina 3

Wish they shipped to the US. Really want to order the catapult for the 1:32 Arado. Will have to think this one through.

Ken Stanton Posted November 23, 2025 Posted November 23, 2025 A 1/32nd scale B26B Marauder would be rather nice! http://kenstantonart.com/aircraft-1 Jan_G and O.W 2

Personally I was insanely excited about your announced 1/32 SR-71. Could we be so lucky that it is still coming at some point? Thanks Niels Archimedes, Martinnfb and Mebo 3
