O.W Posted November 16 Posted November 16 (edited) Why has no (affordable) C-47 been released yet? With all the nations and operators that have used the Skytrain, it mast be a hugely model, right? Edited November 16 by O.W typo LSP_K2, Uncarina and RNoAF 3
Mr.T Posted November 16 Posted November 16 The (unaffordable) option was the HpH kit. KiwiZac, esarmstrong, scvrobeson and 1 other 4
Kenneth Joy Posted November 16 Posted November 16 What we really need is a G4m Betty bomber from HK models! CRAZY IVAN5, firefly7, Greif8 and 5 others 8
Out2gtcha Posted November 16 Posted November 16 Still, a 1/32nd C-47 would in fact be a very large model and in an injection molded models case, would have very large & expensive molds making the end product likely a more expensive model. Archimedes, Greif8, KiwiZac and 1 other 4

If the prices are the same as the HK Bombers, I'll definitely buy a few. Out2gtcha and Christa 2
Phartycr0c Posted November 16 Posted November 16 I've built the 1/32 HPH offering it is indeed huge. Takes a bit of work but is well worth the effort. Royboy, Archimedes, Rick Griewski and 3 others 6

I would have to estimate the costs would be similar with aircraft of similar size and engine count. However, keep in mind the C-47 is still quite a bit larger than a typical HK Bomber like the B-25 (by a good 30')

Was that your one I saw on the Telford photo's? Looked awesome I have that kit too, I wish I could have afforded another KiwiZac 1
Phartycr0c Posted November 16 Posted November 16 Twas indeed and |I agree, I too wish i could have afforded another before they went bump. 2nd hand ones now are a ridiculous price! Anthony in NZ and Christa 2
Out2gtcha Posted November 16 Posted November 16 I'm thinking being a transport with no guns (save Puff) also probably has a bit to do with the decision not to have a 32nd model yet. I'd agree it's a very well known airframe that a large amount of countries used. Anthony in NZ, Archimedes and Phartycr0c 2 1
LSP_Kevin Posted November 16 Posted November 16 I'd love one to do a civil DC-3 - probably in early TAA or Qantas livery. Kev Royboy, LSP_K2, Rick Griewski and 5 others 8
