OK, so after a month of being distracted by a multitude of airliner builds, these are now being rotated to the back of the production line, and this one is back on the bench in earnest. I've spent some time eliminating the visible join between the upper and lower sections of the cowling, as it's a one-piece panel on the real thing. You can see it playing peekaboo on the forward lip on each side.

 

 

 

Looking to really push ahead with this build now, and I think once I can sort out the wiring in the wheel bays (the thing that stalled me, really), I think it will come together pretty quickly.

Not to nit-pick, however there is a cowl latch with a panel line running through it (middle cowl latch) - that latch looks to need to have that panel line filled in. 

Other than that, shes a beauty!

Yes, I'm working on that now. Not so easy, however, as there's a slight mismatch in the levels involved.

Continuing on with efforts to eliminate panel lines where they shouldn't be, I've managed to mostly achieve this with the upper latch detail:

 

 

 

They still need a little refinement, but they're already much better than before.

 

I also had a small step to deal with just to the rear of the cockpit, so built it up with some black CA, awaiting its turn at the sanding station:

 

 

I've spent most of the rest of my time going blind with trying to install wiring to the wheel bay sidewalls, and am less than halfway through the process. Each small wire is taking me around half-an-hour of fumbling, bumbling and mumbling to install, along with a copious amount of swearing!

Great job eradicating the panel lines on the quick release latches Kev!  I hear you on scratching wiring, it can be tough to tame small wires but the end result is worth it!

@LSP_Kevin - Instructions are wrong on #75. They call for Green to be the leading colour with Red on the trailing edge of the wing. Two different references I've got show the Green on the trailing edge.

Nice progress Kev! I bet Quickboost or the equivalent will sell the latches, and someone will eventually market a 3D printed landing gear bay.

It really doesn't need a new landing gear bay - other than maybe sidewalls with pre-printed wiring detail! But the kit allows for adding your own, and even provides wiring diagrams so you know where they all go. Still doesn't make it any less fiddly, though!

I know someone is already working on making that central divider in the UC bay as a 3DP with the wires that will be announced shortly.

I can relate!  Hydraulic lines made from thin solder are what can drive me to tears, among other things.  For me, as the process proceeds, and the more frustrated I get, my hands begin to shake a bit, and I get less careful.  This of course works toward creating a fail rather than a victory.  I find that when working with a particularly difficult and finicky part of a build, to just stop and take a deep breath and get up and walk around a bit can help.
