scvrobeson Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I think that DBMK just announced that someone is going to make a 3D printed center wall of the wheel well with the wiring done. Matt LSP_Kevin and dennismcc 2

Matt Yep - in an earlier post in this thread! It's being done by Chris Sargant, via his new Skunk Worx Model Makers brand: https://www.facebook.com/groups/930927433099077 And it looks so much better than the ugly mess I'm currently creating: Kev scvrobeson, patricksparks, Plane Thinker and 4 others 6 1
LSP_Kevin Posted April 26 Author Posted April 26 OK, I've finally finished wiring one side of the wheel bay central divider: This has taken me several days, and I didn't even do them all! (And I still have to do the other side.) So make sure you grab the new 3D-printed replacement from Skunk Worx when it's available. Oh, and it turns out that assembling the gear bay walls to the wrong wing piece (lower instead of upper, due to not having the instructions at the time) will come back to haunt me shortly, as most of the remaining detail and structural elements attach to the ... upper piece. Sigh. Kev Tolga ULGUR, Uncarina, Madmax and 19 others 21 1
geedubelyer Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Keep at it Kev. It's looking really LSP_Kevin and Martinnfb 2
AngryJazz_Models Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Looking good Kev! Can really see how much work you put into this one! 😄 LSP_Kevin and Martinnfb 2
Greif8 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 VERY nice scratchbuilding Kev! It looks great and accuarate as well. Ernest Martinnfb and LSP_Kevin 2

But to be clear, I've only added the wires here. All the little boxes, connectors and other gubbins are supplied in the kit - and I figured the detail was too good to leave the wiring out. I only wish I'd known about all this in advance, as I would have drilled out all the connecting points prior to installation, and then added the wires before installing the complete part into the wing assembly! I've ended up doing it just about the most difficult way possible. Of course! Kev Shoggz, Martinnfb, wunwinglow and 5 others 2 1 5

Yours has the 'organic' look of the original that would have been hand bent, threaded and affixed. LSP_Kevin, Martinnfb, HK_sends and 4 others 7
Uncarina Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Kevin, That gear bay looks like the real thing! Cheers, Tom Philbucknall, Martinnfb, LSP_Kevin and 1 other 4

scvrobeson Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I think it looks good Kev! Great job powering through all the wiring. Matt Martinnfb, Philbucknall and LSP_Kevin 3
LSP_Kevin Posted April 29 Author Posted April 29 Thanks for your comments, everyone. I'm pleased to say that I've finally finished all the plumbing on the wheel bay divider, having now completed the other side. I left out a couple, and routed a couple of others incorrectly, but I won't tell anyone if you don't. Hopefully this is as fiddly as this build will get!
