I've just received an email from Airfix.... there will be a NEW TOOL announcement tomorrow of a 1:24 kit prior to Telford.

Get those guesses coming in!

Tom

EDIT: I've just been on their facebook page and the post shows a Lightning/Thunderbolt (see below) - are we going to see a 1:24 P-38, P-47 or English Electric's finest..?

The e-mail actually says "Not another Spitfire" !

My guesses

+ 109G-6 (The Spitfire IX was a later war version of something already released i.e. the Mk.I and Mk.V.. and Airfix have previously released an 'Emil'.)

+ Corsair 1-D - Complements the Hellcat.

What date is it? :hmmm:

I had to check my calendar. I thought it was the first of April! .

It will be a Spitfire Mk XVIe low back just because Craig is building the Tamiya version 😇.

My guess would be the P-47 if it's something new.

If Airfix brought out a 1/24th scale EE Lightning they'd get my money.

Whatever it turns out to be, a new 1/24th scale kit is always exciting.

Thanks for the heads up.

Cheers,

Guy

Defiant lol

I know you made a great 3D kit.

But I would still like it in injection.

I made one 1/24, if they do I hope they sell more than me :)

May I ask how many you sold so far ?

Which is mine 😀.

I'm so excited by this announcement. Hope it is something that is not already available, i.e. a P40, Corsair or Wildcat. An EE Lightning would be good too.

If it's something delicious that I can't resist I might just be tempted into 1/24, but I really don't want to be.  So a 109 or Corsair would fit the undelicious bill nicely, which reminds me, my stomach is rumbling and it's lunchtime!

Someone pointed out on another forum that the lightning in the background is part of a storm, which opens up such possibilities as Hurricane or Tempest.

Edit: or perhaps a Tornado,  but knowing how large even a 1/32 GR4 is, I'm not sure that's a realistic suggestion.

Don't tell Max it's a Tempest or a Typhoon. He won't be able to sleep tonight
