Panzerwomble Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) Been a while , I'll have a play if I may ? Got 2 seats ? Having picked up this masterpiece of late 90's Trumpeter work for a whole $15 I reckon it's time to play in oversize scale , having been focused on 1/48 for a long while Having a whopping part count of 20ish , rubber tyres and moulding on a par with Matchbox's old LSPs this will be a hoot for sure. I'll be throwing another $1 worth of AM at it ..maybe . Feel free to ride along and have a giggle Laterz PW Edited Tuesday at 10:54 PM by Panzerwomble geedubelyer, dutik, Landrotten Highlander and 6 others 9
Martinnfb Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Let us stop this madness right here and I will send you AMMO 1/48 MuG-17 beauty to assist with your recovery process from all that emotional trauma caused by the close proximity of that pile of...hmm...plastic. Panzerwomble 1

dmthamade Posted November 2 Posted November 2 A blast from the past!! I remember doing a couple of these MiGs, they were clunky and crude, but to Trumpeters credit, they did improve quickly. OOB decals? Don Martinnfb and Panzerwomble 2
Martinnfb Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Chengdu JJ-5 is such a unique design, since Soviets never build a two seater version of MuG-17. There was a time when I was contemplating Building MuG-15UTI based on the parts from this kit. But failed miserably . Quite a few marking options for this beast. Zimbabwe Albania Bangladesh Pakistan Sri-Lanka And the baddies in Korea dutik, Panzerwomble, Alain Gadbois and 1 other 4

Simple enough markings , and gotta use the old Cameo sometimes 29 minutes ago, Martinnfb said: Chengdu JJ-5 is such a unique design, since Soviets never build a two seater version of MuG-17. Zimbabwe Albania Bangladesh Pakistan Sri-Lanka And the baddies in Korea It's an odd thing , bolt a 15UTI front end to a Mig 17 back end and wings . Chinese cut n shut , Soviets didn't bother with them & All good candidates .........as also the "Alley of Lost Migs in Albania " Article here https://www.podniesinski.pl/portal/the-alley-of-forgotten-migs/ Gazzas and Martinnfb 2

Panzerwomble Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 The cockpit ....is miserable and mostly fictional ...if it were 1/72 it would be mediocre. So I destroyed it .. Oh dear ....Fatbarhd hopefully approves Phantom2, Gazzas, geedubelyer and 7 others 10
Lee White Posted November 2 Posted November 2 IIRC, mine fell apart at the seams, literally, as the plastic used seems to not play well with conventional plastic model glue. YMMV. Martinnfb, dmthamade and Panzerwomble 3

Erwin Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) I build the one seater in an earlier GB. It's not that bad. But my level of finishing is not that high. Good luck with yours. Edited November 3 by Erwin Gazzas, Polecadt, Martinnfb and 1 other 4
